Victoria's Secret – Robson St. – Vancouver, BC
In 2013 Robertson Floors successfully completed Victoria's Secret massive 30,000 SF flagship store in downtown Vancouver. Robertson Floors was involved in the project from the budgeting stage all the way through to the projects successful, and on time turn over and opening. Below is a summary of some of the key points, challenges, and intricacies of the project:

Hardwood Flooring Works:

  • Prep & Subfloor Works: The lower level of the store was to be installed on top of a raised access floor to account for site conditions.  In order to make ready for the new hardwood flooring Robertson Floors supplied and installed a plywood subfloor glued and screwed over top.  On the main level the substrate required shot blasting prior to leveling with approx. 250 bags of fast curing self-leveler.
  • Hardwood Flooring (15,000 SF): Approximately half of this stores total square footage was hardwood flooring so suffice to say these works were a substantial component of this flagship stores finished appearance, which in turn required a significant amount of coordination with the GC and other trades.  At the outset of the project it was agreed upon that the hardwood flooring would be installed at the beginning of construction rather than closer to the end in order to quickly advance the condensed schedule and push the other trades ahead of us.  There were multiple different types of hardwood installed including herringbone and wide plank with border work incorporated into several sections of the store.
