Surrey Memorial Hospital
To meet the demands of Surrey's fast growing population, Surrey Memorial Hospital underwent a significant expansion worth over $500 million dollars which proved to be one of the largest capital health care expenditures in British Columbia's History. Robertson Floors was fortunate to take part in this massive project and contribute to its success. Below is a brief summary of our scope of work:
  • Substrate Prep Works: Given the condition of the substrate, in order to meet the specified tolerances and make the substrate ready to receive the new large format tile the majority of the areas were prepared with a mud bed, with the balance prepared with self-leveler.
  • Crack Isolation Membrane: Peel & Stick Crack Isolation Membrane was installed throughout.
  • Floor Tile Installation (20,000 SF): Large format porcelain floor tile was installed in a specified pattern using a Premium, Flexible, Two Part Mortar System.
  • Wall Tile Installation (6,500 SF): Large format porcelain wall tile was installed in a specified pattern using a Premium, Flexible, Two Part Mortar System.
  • Epoxy Grout (26,500 SF): Epoxy Grout was used throughout for all floor, base, and wall tile.
